Being next door neighbours, we have always enjoyed a close relationship with Winchester College. 1 September 2025 marked the official merger and a significant point in our schools’ shared history. It is important to note that Pilgrims’ continues to prepare boys for whichever senior school suits them best. Previously Pilgrims’ was owned by Winchester Cathedral and all three institutions continue to work closely together with boys attending services and events in the Cathedral throughout the year.

Winchester College 11+
Pupils who wish to apply for Winchester College can be assessed for a place while they’re with us. We offer earlier assessment followed by earlier offers for boys already here and for those wishing to come to Pilgrims’ for Years 7 and 8 with a view to going on to Winchester College. Bursaries can also be applied for at this time. Please see the link below for further details.
Pilgrims’ boys regularly progress to many of the UK’s leading senior schools. In the past five years alone, 119 have gone on to Winchester, 41 to Eton and 23 to Sherborne, with others joining Marlborough, Radley, Charterhouse and Harrow — many with full scholarships.
