Humanities
Humanities at Pilgrims’ inspires curiosity about the world, developing boys’ understanding of people, places and the past through engaging, hands-on learning.
Boys learn best by doing.
Pilgrims’ scientists are recognised by senior schools for their confidence, practical skills and strong understanding of theory. Our curriculum blends hands-on learning with theory, making science relevant and engaging. By Year 8, boys are confident scientists, often working at GCSE-level practical standard.
In the Lower Prep, science is taught through an investigative approach, helping boys develop skills in the scientific method through prediction, experimentation and evaluation, supported by Forest School in Year 3.
From Year 5 onwards, boys study biology, chemistry and physics as separate subjects, learning in fully equipped laboratories with support from a dedicated lab technician to combine practical skills with theory.
