TRAVEL
We are very happy to help coordinate travel for boarders at weekends, exeats, half terms and ends of terms. We can help with tickets, look after passports and can arrange escorted transport to and from airports or railway stations.
Winchester railway station is within easy walking distance, with a taxi rank right outside the station and several reliable taxi companies used regularly by the school. Getting to London couldn’t be easier, with London Waterloo under an hour away, with up to four direct trains an hour.
The Pilgrims’ Express, our escorted return train travel to London Waterloo, is a popular logistics solution for busy families at the start and end of each exeat and half-term. Staffed by our ever-present gaps, it’s a safe and fun way to make the journey.
It also gives boys a growing sense of independence while still maintaining close supervision. We are very happy to help with other escorted journeys at other times if we can – please ask for more details.
Southampton and Bournemouth are the nearest airports, 15 minutes and 40 minutes away respectively by car. Heathrow is usually less than an hour by car and is also served by National Express coaches from Winchester. Gatwick is only an hour and a half away. There is also a direct train from Winchester to Birmingham International Airport.

Pilgrims’ has two boarding houses, ‘Main School’ and ‘Q School’. Both enjoy the same friendly, bustling, family atmosphere.

At Pilgrims' we believe it is important that the boys also have free, unstructured time to read, relax and create their own entertainment, just as they would at home.
