The Year 8 Leavers’ Programme

The school year ends with a programme of events for Leavers where memories are made with activities.  There’s a mix of fun and exciting day trips and talks, life skill sessions, career talks and sessions that help with moving to senior school.  All activities are designed to prepare our Leavers for their next adventure.

There are day trips and activities including:

  • A sponsored charity walk along the South Downs Way
  • Watersports at Sandbanks in Dorset (with paddleboarding, sailing a Catamaran, windsurfing, Kayaking)
  • Parents/Guardians v sons cricket match on Wolvesey
  • BBQs and picnics

Residential trips include a week at:

  • Mount Kelly Activities Centre in Devon
  • Battlefields trip to Belgium  with visits to see WW1 trenches and Flanders Fields

There are plenty of character building activities to cement life long friendships.

The Summer Concert is a highlight on the last Tuesday of term and finally shirts are signed and goodbyes are said during the Vin d’Honneur in the Quad after Prize-Giving, with boys exchanging their old school ties for Leavers’ ties.
