PRE-PREP CURRICULUM AND THE LEARNING JOURNEY

Within the Pre-Prep, we believe childhood should be filled with wonder, curiosity and joyful discovery. Our curriculum places a strong emphasis on learning through play, meaningful first-hand experiences and rich outdoor learning opportunities within our natural environment.

The boys are encouraged to explore, investigate and take managed risks through regular outdoor learning experiences that nurture confidence, resilience and independence. In Reception, thoughtfully planned continuous provision enables children to follow their interests, make decisions, solve problems and develop strong foundations for lifelong learning. Access to outdoor spaces throughout the day allows learning to flow naturally between indoors and outdoors, while opportunities to work alongside Years 1 and 2 foster a strong sense of community.

In Years 1 and 2, literacy and numeracy are taught in small, carefully tailored groups to ensure every boy feels supported, challenged and successful. The wider curriculum is delivered through engaging, curiosity-led themes that encourage children to make connections across subjects, ask thoughtful questions and develop a genuine love of learning. We place great value on creativity, communication, exploration and real-world experiences, with minimal reliance on screens.
